Orphaned Works: issue or not?I've read a number of journals with people mentioning things I hadn't heard of before, such as someone's claim that the Orphaned Works' Bill hasn't been reintroduced to Congress or whatever yet, although people are attempting to reintroduce it. Even so, this issue still worries me enough that I'm not going to take down my original entry (below) just yet.
I encourage everyone to sign the petition, because if this Orphaned Works Bill or whatever has even a small chance of getting passed, the art community needs to act.
And if it isn't of any importance, as some people suggest...? Well, you'll have typed in a few sentences for nothing. Better that than risk the copyright of your art.

Thus, I have a few questions:
Is this only in USA? If so, I personally have little to worry about, even though I am concerned for the others.
And I really want to sign the petition, but I cherish my anonymity.
If I sign, would people be able to connect my real name with my account here on deviantART?
If not, I will sign without a second of doubt.
However, reading this sort of put things in a different perspective for me, and I'd like to think I can trust the people who lead us have their minds and hearts in the right place.
I any case I felt better after understanding some of the points made in this, so maybe it'll help you too.
